Life in China has been great. I’ve been working here for nearly 6 years now and I’m still enjoying every moment. It takes a little adjusting and getting used to the way of life here, especially the cultural differences, but once you start to get to know a few things and learn a bit of the language, life certainly become a lot easier. If you want to earn a decent salary, weather you are trying to save up or even if you just want to travel. China is a decent place to do it.

Coming to China has been a life changing opportunity. It has opened a new world for me, a world of travel, culture, food and different experiences. Making the choice to leave everything I knew was difficult. It was tough to say good- bye to family and friends and fly across the world to a country that doesn’t even speak my language. But now, reflecting on the years I have spent in China, I see how much I have grown. I have been able to travel in and around China, meet people from all over the word, taste cuisine that I never thought I would and be part of a welcoming community in my school. Being a teacher has been rewarding and has helped shape me into the person I am today.

Living in China has provided me with an opportunity to save money, meet new people, and experience a new culture firsthand. While my friends are all at home doing the same thing, they’ve been doing for years, I’ve had the ability to travel, try new things, and broaden my idea of what the world is truly like.

During my time in China, I have really enjoyed learning about a different culture I have only read in books. It’s amazing to experience it firsthand, whilst doing a job I love. China has offered me many great opportunities and I’ll always be thankful for this. I have loved exploring both the north and south of China, the vast landscapes in rural towns and mountains are truly breathtaking. Within each city is a new adventure and every single city has something new to offer, whether it be food, entertainment or new hiking spots. I have met many friends for life and continue meeting new people, it’s a lot of fun. And it’s a great memory and China will always hold a special place in my heart.
